Alignment Engineering Group (ALIEN Group) were asked to provide geometric measurement and correction services of rolls within the Sander. Scope of work included measurement and correction of transport rolls, sanding drums and pad beams with respect to a selected reference plane. Additional tasks included measurement and correction of pad beam straightness.

Two ALIEN Group engineers onsite carried out the necessary measurements using Pruftechnik LEVALIGN Expert rotating laser and sensor measuring to 0.001mm. There were several challenging factors including tight access through the machine and a limited timing window.

Final alignment results showed significant improvement through the machine.
